Richard Barnett
Richard Barnett, originally a native of England, specialises in improving sales force performance though proven business processes. He is particularly knowledgeable in the area of global project pursuit and enhancing performance of international sales channels. He has a wealth of first hand experience in the area of selling automation products for international projects.
For fifteen years at Emerson Process Management, he held a number of senior management positions. As Global Project Pursuit Director, he led a team of 52 members in all parts of the world and was responsible for Global Project Sales in excess of $260M. He helped to develop a common sales process that was adopted globally and has wide and varied experience of working with customers, sales companies and representative organisations within North America, Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
He has held various Senior Account Management positions, including BP, Esso, Shell, Foster-Wheeler and Brown & Root.
Richard has worked with Miller Heiman since 1993 when he was trained to teach their methodologies from within the Emerson organisation. He is certified to teach LAMP, Strategic Selling, Conceptual Selling, Negotiate Success and Executive Impact. He has also had first hand experience of successfully implementing these methodologies in various sales organisations.
His education background includes a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Brighton University, UK. He is also a Chartered Electrical Engineer, as well as holding various industry qualifications. He has travelled extensively and has a working knowledge of French and German.
In 2009, Richard became an accredited seller and deliverer of MathMarketing’s proven B2B marketing training, Funnel Academy, and facilitated planning program, Funnel Camp.
