Eddie Smith
Eddie Smith has more than twenty five years experience in the management of national business development teams. This experience has been gained across two principal industries.
For fifteen years, Eddie worked in business development and general management in the media sales industry. As National Sales Manager for Australian Posters, the then market leader in out-of-home advertising, Eddie led a team of state managers and was a part of the team which created one of the most innovative media sales organisations in the country.
More recently, Eddie worked in the field of support services to a wide range of enterprises. For five years, he led and directed business development and marketing of a contract cleaning, healthcare and hotel services business owned by P&O Australia. This market leader generated annual organic sales growth of $20 million; for which Eddie was directly responsible. Finally he worked for Eurest, the Australian division of Compass-Group PLC; the world leader in contract catering. At the time of his departure, he was the Sales Director responsible for a team of senior business developers delivering new business growth of $30 million per annum. Eddie sat on the executive board of Eurest Australia and directed the business development function.
Eddie’s personal profile includes an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management – UNSW. He is accredited in the use of the behaviour profiling tool DISC and is trained in the use of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) for facilitation. He holds accreditation in a number of Miller Heiman training programs.
Today, Eddie is the Principal of the sales management consultancy Sales Schematics Australia (SSA). SSA offers sales development and account management programs. Eddie was the creator and author of the respected Sales Mastery and Clients-for-life programs. Under his direction, SSA has worked with clients across a diverse range of projects. These include:
- National roll-out of complex sales development program for large Australian companies.
- Assistance with the development and execution of account management plans for clients in the Engineering and Healthcare sectors.
- Strategy development for large public companies seeking to influence state governments in the development of a large PPP project.
Arising from both his executive and consulting experience, Eddie has developed a special understanding of two markets:
- Healthcare – assisting organisations selling products, capital equipment and services into public and private hospitals and aged care.
- Engineering / Property Services – assisting organisations providing engineering, maintenance, facility management and other property / infrastructure related services.
In 2009, Eddie became an accredited seller and deliverer of MathMarketing’s proven B2B marketing training, Funnel Academy, and facilitated planning program, Funnel Camp.
